John Winston Ono Lennon MBE (born 9 October, 1940; died 8 December 1980) came form Liverpool, UK. His pop group, The Beatles was a 1960's sensation which, in John's own words was, "more popular than Jesus." After the break up of The Beatles, he had, at first, a faltering music career which began to bloom again in the beginning of the 1970's. Lennon's life was cut tragical short when a crazed fan, Mark David Chapman, shot him dead outside his New York apartment on the 8th December 1980.
