The [[human]] [[fossil]] record is scattered and incomplete, and the relative age of fossils is sometimes ambiguous. This article will be a detailed list of the known fossils in the human record, where they were found, who found them, and approximately how old they are. These details will be limited by the amount of existing knowledge that human beings have on this subject, and thus this article will also have to discuss debates in the scientific community over the information surrounding human fossils. Please note that the human fossil record extends beyond the scope of the genus [[homo]], encompassing genii such as the [[australopithecus]]. This article will be concerned only with those fossils that correlate to the evolution of [[homo sapien sapiens]] after its divergence from the rest of the [[Great Apes]].
