Hans Holbein the younger

Hans Holbein the younger (1497/8–1543) was a Bavarian artist who has been described as "the first great British artist"[1]. He was tutored in his father's studio in Augsburg. At the age of 29 he moved to England for 2 years where he met and painted Thomas More.
