Colorado is a state in the western USA. Its capital is Denver. On August 1, 1876 Colorado became the 38th state to enter the union. Colorado is known as the "Centennial State" because it entered 100 years after the the nation was born. The current governor of Colorado is Bill Ritter, a member of the Democratic Party.
