Ingredients

  • 1 round steak, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 tsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 sm. can tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • salt and pepper to taste

Cooking directions

  • Brown the steak in the shortening.
  • Cover the meat with water and add the tomato sauce. Simmer for 2-3 hours until tender.
  • Add cumin, garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Mix flour and water; add this to thicken the stew and cook for an additional fifteen minutes.
  • Serve with flour tortillas and pinto beans.
