Rational for creating this article

Based on the recent discussion at the Talk page of the Xenon article, it became apparent that the Template:Elem Infobox was more desirable than the complicated and uneditable text created by the Template:Basic elemental info. It also became abundantly clear that very few Citizens understood how either of those tables worked and how to use them.

I also found that there was no clear and simple explanation to be found on how to install the Template:Elem Infobox in an article .... despite the fact that it was definitely recommended for use by the CZ:Chemistry style guide.

For that reason, I spent a good deal of time to learn just how the Template:Elem Infobox worked and how it could be installed and used in articles about the chemical elements ... and then wrote this article. I wrote it in more haste than I usually write articles ... so there may may be some need to edit it. Please feel free to do so. Milton Beychok 21:15, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
