The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is a U.S. based youth organization. Founded in 1910, the organization is now the largest of its type in the United States, boasting a membership of several million youth nationwide. The scouting program in the U.S. offers four distinct programs: Cub Scouting is open to boys in the first through fifth grades, Boy Scouting is designed for boys between 11 and 17 years, Varsity Scouting is offered as an alternative for boys between 14 and 17 years, and Venturing is open to boys and girls between 14 and 20.
