Barry C. Scheck is an American lawyer and a professor of law at Benjamin Cardozo Law School who is best known for his expertise with DNA evidence, both in defending criminal defendants at trial and in proving that prisoners were innocent of the crimes of which they were convicted, sometimes because suitable DNA testing was beyond the technology at the time, sometimes because it just was not performed. To facilitate that work, he co-founded the Innocence Project at Cardozo in 1992.
