The Atlanta Braves are a Major League Baseball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally known as the Boston Red Stockings, the team was one of the inaugural teams in the National League in 1876. [1] Prior to this, the Red Stockings had been a team in the National Association from 1871 to 1875. [2]

They were also National League champions, but lost in the World Series, 6 times, in 1948, 1958, 1991, 1992, 1996, and 1999. [3]
