(1948 - ) He is professor emeritus at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, where previously he was Professor for Comparative Health and Social Policy. Dr. Evers is noted in particular for his studies of the interaction of the state, markets, civil society and the family and community sphere and the arrangements, that help to empower people, strengthening welfare and the civic roots of democracy.
