Controversy

Disturbing Esplanade performance

On 25 March 2023, Sim Ann appeared at the middle of the performance, she shakes hands with some audience who stood up, making chattering noises, and her presence blocked the view of some other guests. Some audience members who were upset shouted at her to sit down. The singer on stage was reportedly affected by Sim's behaviour. Due to Sim's actions, she was slammed by the music community and audience members for her actions that were deemed inconsiderate and disrespectful. She did not issue an apology for her action.
