I am a student at an Essex Grammar School in SE England, and am a keen linguist in school and out, and have holidayed often abroad. I am an avid watcher of television, particularly of sport and comedy programmes. I am a particular fan of cricket and athletics, as well as many winter sports, such as biathlon and ski jumping, with a wide knowledge of these and other sports. I also indulge my hobby of collecting paper-based ephemera, mainly cigarette cards and stamps.
I am also a keen quizzer, having represented my school quiz team, which reached the National School Quiz Finals in 2006. I also accompany my parents and their friends to quiz, and watch many quiz shows on television. My main television habits are sport, as mentioned, many quiz shows, any British sitcom, or a couple of American sitcoms (Scrubs, Frasier, M*A*S*H.) I also quite like watching Doctor Who and its offshoots, and also Hustle, among many dramas.
My reading habits tend to be from the children’s selection - for obvious reasons – and include Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, Montmorency (by Eleanor Updale), Children Of the red King (by Jenny Nimmo), and the Roman Mysteries (by Caroline Lawrence.) I tend not to read the Classics, as I enjoy rereading books that remind me of my Primary School years!!
