Lars Roede, born 1944 in Oslo, Norway. Education: Graduated from Altoona High School, Altoona, PA, 1962. Graduated from Ullern High School, Oslo, Norway, 1964. Studied architecture at the Technical University of Norway 1965-70. Doctor of architecture (dr. ing.) from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, 2001. Thesis: "Byen bytter byggeskikk. Christiania 1624-1814. (On the verncular building traditions of Oslo) Emloyment: Assistant teacher of architectural history, Technical University of Norway, 1970-72. Conservation officer, City of Oslo Office of architectural preservation, 1972-77. Secretary general, Fortidsminneforeningen (Norw. Society for the preservation of cultural monuments) 1977-79.
