James South is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department. His areas of research are in the history of philosophy, especially late medieval and renaissance philosophy, and philosophy and popular culture. His work in the history of philosophy has appeared in such journals as Review of Metaphysics, History of Philosophy Quarterly, and Medieval Philosophy and Theology. In the area of popular culture, he has edited Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy (2003) and co-edited James Bond and Philosophy (2006). He has also published essays on movies, music, and comic books.
