I grew up in Columbus, Mississippi, USA. I lived in Eugene, Oregon, USA and Kanagawa-ken, Japan. I attended the University of Mississippi from 1984 to 1986 majoring in geology and biology. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 1995 with a BS in philosophy. My interests include philosophy, social theory, and altered states of consciousness. I am currently an English teacher in Japan.
