Deby Stewart, aka Donza, has a BA in Education and a MS in Educational Technology and is a candidate for National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education. She is a high school business teacher in Ft Lauderdale, Florida USA, covering subjects such as MS Office, Web Design and 3D Design. A native of Charleston, West Virginia she has been a resident of South Florida for over 30 years. Prior to becoming a teacher she had her own computer consulting business, Computerchick Consulting, and then Deby.com Web Services, a web design company.

Deby became addicted to 3D Design in 2002 while working on a private beta program for development of an online chat environment called Adobe Atmosphere (Adobe Systems Incorporated) and began using the avatar name “Donza” at that time. As Donza (www.donzas.com), she became one of the chief cheerleaders for the community of developers and was instrumental in organizing weekly online design seminars, various monthly community activities and get-togethers, and her much-anticipated annual Halloween parties; all utilizing the collaborative aspects of Adobe Atmosphere’s online server. She helped with preliminary editing of a Brunel doctoral psychology thesis on avatars (based on research done in the Atmosphere community) and was also co-editor and columnist of Afterlife, the un-official “official” Atmosphere community electronic monthly magazine for the developers. She is currently a co-moderator of The Beach Club, an online forum of past Atmosphere developers.

After the Atmosphere project was abandoned by Adobe in 2004, Deby discovered Media Machines’ Flux Studio 3D building software, also a beta program, and became involved with the Flux community of developers in mid-2006. Using a combination of Flux and the Blaxxun collaborative server (www.blaxxun.com), she has designed one online environment which hosted her 2006 Annual 3D Halloween Party (http://www.3dhalloweenworld.com). She is currently teaching Flux and several other freeware 3D design programs in her high school class on 3D Design.

On a local level, Deby is involved in several Broward County and Florida State School Board Advisory and Curriculum Committees, and serves on the School and Education Advisory Board for the Town of Southwest Ranches, Florida.

In her spare time (?) she designs 3D environments, creates tutorials for Flux Studio, and continues work on a children’s historical novel.
