Started learning guitar in 1965. Learned computer programming and started working with computers in 1972. Started teaching guitar in 1974, and started teaching music theory soon thereafter.

I read anything and everything that captures my interest, and my range of interests is growing all the time. I have too many books, but I also watch too much television--although not so much that I've ever seen the most popular or talked about television programs. But that's also because I primarily watch public television, and listen to public radio.

I like writing, and consider myself a pretty good author, but not proud enough about it that I'm adverse to other people's input, which I often seek.
