CCGS Cape Hurd, prior to conversion to a fireboat.

The William Thornton is a fireboat operated by the city of Toronto. She was formerly the CCGS Cape Hurd, a Canadian Coast Guard vessel. She was commissioned in 2015, to supplement the city's iconic William Lyon Mackenzie.

She is named in honour of William Thornton, the first firefighter to die in the line of duty, in Toronto.
