Stymphalian birds [r]: From Greek mythology, they were large birds who could eat people since their beaks were made of bronze. They were owned by the Greek god Ares (or Roman: Mars). They lived in Arcadia. It was one of the labors of Heracles to get rid of these birds who, at one point, attacked the Argonauts.
