This page is meant to collect ideas on how to make CZ better, both in a fundamental or incremental way, with a focus on practical rather than theoretical improvements. We need an overview here, so please do not use more than about 50 words per field and link to other pages (on the forum, or in the CZ or user namespaces) if further information is necessary.
Please sort by priority (from 5=crucial to 1=nice to have to 0=neutral to -1=counterproductive), and if a problem was solved, move it to a similar table at the bottom of this page.

The current "Elem Infobox" template has no way for listing properties like IUPAC name, CAS number, molecular mass, boiling point, melting point, density, specific heat, refractive. index, etc. It also has no counterpart for compounds as well as elements. | 5 | We need a template placing a standard table on main article edit pages that can be used to list/add/delete/revise properties for elements and for compounds. Perhaps one such template for elements and one for compounds. | Look at the table I created on the edit page of Water and how it displays on the main article page | Look at table I also created on Water/Other Properties for listing more properties, if appropriate. | Milton Beychok | 21:40, 27 October 2009 (UTC) | a test version for such a template can be found at Template:PropList |

much of our best content is hidden to occasional visitors, and CZ:Article of the Week / CZ:New Draft of the Week require more energy than we seem to have on a permanent basis | 3 | Display the introductory parts of approved articles on the CZ:Welcome Page by means of transclusion and random selection (as already practices for CZ:Quotes. | CZ:Article of the Week / CZ:New Draft of the Week as well as CZ:Quotes, all of which have been in operation for a while | Forum thread | Daniel Mietchen | 11:16, 12 October 2009 (UTC) or before | Problem description missing |

No easy way to compare current approved with current draft version | 2 | extend diff (if possible) | workaround Only if approved version has not been changed independently!: (0) Add &diff=cur to the url of the approved revision of the draft. If that is too complicated, you can get there in the following three steps too: (1) Go to an approved article's Approval subpage, (2) Follow the link to the latest approved version, (3) The "diff" link after "Current revision" gives you the difference, and its content will update automatically when new edits to the draft have been made | Current possibility: Paste approved version into draft, use "view changes" //Has to be included into {{Approval}} by adding &diff=cur to the url of the approved revision of the draft, along with a brief statement that this is the difference. |
