The Battle of the Plains of Abraham took place on 13 September 1759. One of the key battles in the French and Indian War, and part of the larger conflict known as the Seven Years' War,it was the pivotal moment in the fall of New France, ultimately leading to the end of French power in North America. British forces under the command of General James Wolfe met French and Canadian troops led by the Marquis de Montcalm outside the fortified city of Quebec.
