Basic metabolic profile

A basic metabolic profile (BMP) is a group of seven biochemical tests done on a patient's serum, whose results are so generally useful that they are commonly ordered in a health examination or monitoring of a patient. The tests are:

• Sodium
• Potassium
• Chloride
• Bicarbonate
• Glucose
• Blood urea nitrogen
• Creatinine
