Laurier Rochon

I am a Montreal based multimedia integrator and designer, currently studying in the field of Computation Arts at Concordia University. I have a 3-year technical degree (CEGEP) in multimedia. Since 2003, I have worked mainly as a freelance webmaster, graphic designer and multimedia specialist, while collaborating with many artists in Montreal and Ottawa.

I have been teaching various tutorials and technical classes on a wide range of subjects, and my work has been published in magazines such as MAKE (www.makezine.com).

I am very interested in interactive Web applications, interaction design and physical computing. Furthermore, my work deals a lot with amorphous computing, swarm intelligence, environmental simulation and human subjectivity.

On a more technical note, I know about a dozen languages of programming (mostly web-based – php/vbscript/javascript/ajax/css/actionScript/java/processing, etc.), and have some experience in circuit-bending & microcontroller programming as well as interactive installations and live projections.
