The Deutsche Mark (IPA BrE /'dɔɪtʃmɑk/), or simply 'Mark', in English usually 'Deutschmark', was the currency of Germany from 1948 until it adopted the euro in 2001. One Mark was divided into 100 Pfenninge (or pfennings).
