I was born in 1980 in Rome, from a family originating in the Marche region of central Italy, where I still spend part of the year and can be found taking long walks and treks outdoors.

I am currently enrolled in the last year of medical school, making Medicine my main field of interest (my preferred subjects being Internal Medicine in general, Cardiology and Palliative Care in particular). I have an interest in the techniques of medical teaching and learning, and have spent some time in the UK on an Erasmus placement during my undergraduate course.

I hold a Certificate of Proficiency in English by Cambridge University and still visit the UK at least annually. From 1998 to 2003 I have worked part-time as an English to Italian translator and editor on the Italian-language editions of DC comics material, thus developing a professional level of knowledge of the field of American comics.

I am a rather avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, and in the latter category my main interest is history (with a focus on the emergence of European ethnic identities in the transition from Roman to Medieval times). More recently, I am starting to develop an interest in cinema.
