This needs a little more in the first paragraph. For historical figures, I think it isn't enough simply to describe roles or positions, but to say what a person accomplished. So, what did Gallatin do so that we have an article about him at all? (Or is his only claim to fame was that he was a cog in a government machine?) --Larry Sanger 07:45, 8 November 2007 (CST)
