Template for labelling public domain media.

Usage

The template has three parameters: {{PD|reason|author|attribution}}

  1. Optional — the reason why this work is in the public domain. One of the following:
    • author — the work has been released into the public domain by its author. The second parameter must be used to specify the name of the author.
    • user — same as the above, but the author is a Citizen. The second parameter must be the Citizen's username.
    • old — any copyright on the work has expired.
    • ineligible — the work is not eligible for copyright.
    • usgov — a work of the US government (a special case of the above).
  2. Required if the first parameter is author or user — the author's name.
  3. Optional — Requests or restrictions regarding re-use. One of the following:
    • request — if the source of the image requests attribution etc.
    • requirement — if somebody asserts restriction rights over the work.
