I earned a Ph.D. in statistics with a minor in mathematics at the University of Minnesota in 1997. My thesis was on foundational issues concerning epistemic probability. I was one of six finalists for the 1997 Savage Award for Ph.D. theses on Bayesian statistics and econometrics. Besides the University of Minnesota, I have taught at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and the University of Toledo. I am currently at the University of Minnesota again, this time in the School of Mathematics.
