The British Humanist Association is a registered charity, membership organisation and political campaigning group for humanists in the United Kingdom. It seeks to "promote Humanism and support and represent people who seek to live good lives without religious or superstitious beliefs".[1] It campaigns on a number of issues related to the role of religion in education and public life, and trains and administers provision of humanist celebrants for naming ceremonies, weddings, civil partnerships, affirmations, funerals, memorial services etc.[2]

In 2010, along with the National Secular Society, Peter Tatchell and a number of other campaigners and groups, the British Humanist Association took part in a protest against Pope Benedict XVI during the state visit to the United Kingdom.
