I live in South Manchester, England. I graduated in 2005 from Trinity College, Cambridge University with a B.A. in Natural Sciences (Astrophysics), although I studied maths in my first two years. Since November 2005, I have been working as an Actuarial trainee with a life insurance and pensions firm in the North West of England.

I'm a keen golfer, currently with a 6-handicap - and represented the Cambridge University 2nd team in two winning Varsity matches against our Oxford University counterparts. I learned to row whilst at university, representing my college in various events, and I have continued to row with crews at a local club since graduation. I have been actively involved with a local astronomical society for several years, where I have given presentations about various topics both to society members, and to the general public. I am also an active member of the Scout Network in Cheshire.
