I am currently a Full Professor in the Social Sciences, in the De la Salle-College of Saint Benilde, one of the best tertiary education institution in the Philippines. I am happily married to Susan Olivares. We have one daughter.

I was born and grew up in Manila, Philippines. I studied in public schools. I have an M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Psychology from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon city. However, I am also very interested in many other fields such as modern art, astronomy, religion, fractals, combinatorics, operations research, history, learning, and health sciences.

I own a catadioptric telescope that I have assembled myself, but I now rarely use it because of the street lights that interfere with astronomical observations. Instead, I now teach and read, and edit academic articles with more passion, especially those of Rizaline studies. I have authored some articles in some refereed journals.

I am the general editor of the recently published Encyclopedia Rizaliana (Lulu Press, 2008)
