'Wasting My Time' was the first single released, from Jimmy Page's 1988 album Outrider. It was recorded in February 1987, at the Sol Studio, Cookham, Berkshire, and released on 7 May 1988 by Geffen Records in the United States and in the United Kingdom.

The song is underpinned by workmanlike heavy drumming from Jason Bonham, and sweeping minor-chord riffing by Jimmy Page.[1] John Miles' vocals add a gruff bluesy tone.[2] 'Wasting My Time' lyrics are about a relationship that went no-where and it's time for the parties to move on.

The band appeared on the music video for the single, and was one of the most requested MTV songs of 1989. It is still regularly screened to this day on VH1 Classic's metal show.
