An example of the third-generation Expanded capacity HMMWV (ECV), the M1152 ECV armament carrier can be used as a guntruck or as a troop transport in Infantry Brigade Combat Teams, where they typically are aasigned to the weapons company of an infantry battalion. Their main weapons mount can interchange a .50 caliber M2 machine gun, a MK 19 grenade launcher, or a single-tube BGM-71 TOW missile launcher.
The vehicle has a two-man crew, and is the primary attack vehicle in the weapons company of an Infantry Brigade Combat Team
