In physics, the Lorentz-Lorenz law relates the index of refraction n and the density ρ of a dielectricum
![{\displaystyle {\frac {n^{2}-1}{n^{2}+2}}\propto \rho }](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/b797c0794ee71001972fb11a7a3520cdd1b15efd)
The relation is named after the Dutch physicist Hendrik Antoon Lorentz and the Danish physicist Ludvig Valentin Lorenz.
