If someone nominates themself, it seems excessively bureaucratic to require that they formally accept the nomination. Peter Jackson (talk) 09:43, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

They still have to be seconded, though. If it went through automatically on seconding, they might not be able to get themselves off the ballot in time if they changed their mind. Also, they might want to reject the seconder, for whatever reason. John Stephenson (talk) 13:27, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
