Welcome Page

Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start. You'll probably want to know how to get started as an author. Just look at CZ:Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. Be sure to stay abreast of events via the Citizendium-L (broadcast) mailing list (do join!) and the blog. Please also join the workgroup mailing list(s) that concern your particular interests. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forums is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any constable for help, too. Me, for instance! Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Hayford Peirce 23:47, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

A second welcome

Hi, Jules, glad to see that you're already at work! As you probably saw, I set up the subpage structure for one of your articles. I'll do the same for a second one also. The subpage stuff is the only real difference between us and WP, aside from the general attitude. Once you've done the subpages a couple of times it becomes pretty easy, and even makes sense if you think about it. I'm not an expert on it by any means, but I can find people who are if you have any questions. I also suggest that you click on the "Forums" link over on the left and register with the Forums for discussions. Sorry that you have to register a second time, but that's the way the system has been set up. All the best! Hayford Peirce 15:58, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I noticed your work with the subpages, it's a great help, I think I can manage the other pages now. I' ll also have a look at the forums, Jules Grandgagnage 16:02, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I *thought* that you had gotten stared on one of them. It's really not very hard.... Hayford Peirce 17:05, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Toeval?

Hallo Jules, ongeveer gelijk met jou heeft een andere Brasschaatenaar (Lin Barneveld) zich aangemeld. Toeval, of kennen jullie elkaar? --Paul Wormer 17:10, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Klopt! Wij zijn zelfs getrouwd, in Brasschaat dan nog wel! Jules Grandgagnage 17:25, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Welkom bij Citizendium! Ik hoop dat jullie het leuk vinden. Ik kan niet spreken Nederlands. Ik gebruik "iGoogle". Ik ben Amerikaan. Ik spreek Engels. Maar mijn voorouders zijn Nederlands. Ik gebruikte om te schrijven op Wikipedia.--Thomas Wright Sulcer 17:57, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Nice to hear from you Thomas and thanks for the warm welcome! Jules Grandgagnage 18:27, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Witch-cult hypothesis

Hi Jules, I saw you have changed worshipped again into worshiped in this article. However, both forms are right; worshiped is American English, while worshipped is British. As the articles here seem to have been written mainly in American English, your solution may be better after all indeed. Best regards, Stefan Olejniczak 12:29, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi, Stefan, I was not even aware that someone had changed the spelling to the British form, (I thought I misspelled it) but you're absolutely right that both forms are correct - Best regards, Jules Grandgagnage 13:08, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Schopenhauer!

Hi Jules, I edited your Schopenhauer page, mostly expanding it greatly. I wish you would write more about the relation of will to the body and art/music since I am guessing this is a big interest for you? And also wonder if you are very familiar with Schopenhauer's engagement with the Upanishads since I am not at all! I am interested in your thoughts of how his philosophy might overcome, make up for its pessimism. IN addition to this one, maybe we can collaborate on other pages if you want. Feel free to edit any of my content in the future! Since there are differing views on Schopenhauer, please feel free to comment on any opposing views to what I have stated. (I'm just hitting it from my own perspective based on sources I have read, such as Janaway, Magee, and others.) By the way, I noticed in the comment above this one that you are talking to yourself. Congratulations. Glad to see that I am not the only one! --Maria Cuervo 04:06, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

Nice work you did on Schopenhauer, Maria. I'm happy that someone with your background and credentials is willing to spend some time expanding and improving this important article! I'm sooo impressed with all the things you're doing (lecturing, publishing poetry, art exhibitions,...) As for the collaboration proposal, I'm flattered but I'm pretty sure you, as a scholar, could do a much better job without me. So, in a nutshell: you're too kind and I'm too dumb ;) Have fun with your work and enjoy your holidays. Greetings from Belgium, Jules Grandgagnage 11:14, 25 December 2011 (UTC)
