The urogenital system, consists of "all the organs involved in reproduction and the formation and release of urine. It includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder; urethra, and the organs of reproduction - ovaries, uterus; Fallopian tubes; vagina; and clitoris in women and the testes; seminal vesicles; prostate; seminal ducts; and penis in men."[1]
The medical specialties of urology address the urogenital systems of men and women, with it being the primary reproductive system specialty for men. For women, gynecology has a similar scope, but with the additional complexities of obstetrics. Various subspecialties, such as reproductive endocrinology, deal with reproductive problems between a man and a woman.
