The Deutsche Mark, in English usually 'deutschmark', (IPA BrE /'dɔɪtʃmɑːk/), or simply 'mark', was the currency of Germany from 1948 until it adopted the euro in 2001. One mark (in German capitalised: Mark) was divided into 100 pfennings (Pfenninge).
