Associate Justice John Paul Stevens

John Paul Stevens (born April 20, 1920) is an American jurist. He has been an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States since 1975, when he was appointed by President Gerald Ford to replace Justice William O. Douglas. At 89, he is the oldest Justice on the Supreme Court. Before serving on the Supreme Court, Stevens was a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
