Born in San Francisco, I grew up in Daly City and Pacifica. In the late '70s I attended Cal Poly, SLO and received a BS in Computer Science after a very fun 5 years. Over the next 20 years I held various positions at Hewlet Packard. In 2000 I left to co-found my own company, Audible Magic. I read widely, enjoy the theater and local lecture series, and really like a good cup of coffee while working on the Sunday Times crossword. I sporadically post to my web site (www.jimschrempp.com). I enjoy a number of creative pursuits, when I have the time. Photography has always been a fulfilling hobby. In recent years I've tried drawing, painting, and ceramic work. I cannot play any musical instrument or carry a tune - even through a karaoke machine.
