Diana: Consider discussing with your professor whether you wish to develop the article as the evolution of 'hominid' intelligence or 'hominin' intelligence, since 'hominid' includes the Great Apes whereas 'hominin' refers to the lineage from which ''Homo sapiens'' emerged. | |||

Diana: Consider discussing with your professor whether you wish to develop the article as the evolution of 'hominid' intelligence or 'hominin' intelligence, since 'hominid' includes the Great Apes whereas 'hominin' refers to the lineage from which Homo sapiens emerged.
As I understand the most recent definition:
- Hominid - the group consisting of all modern and extinct Great Apes (that is, modern humans, chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans plus all their immediate ancestors).
- Hominin - the group consisting of modern humans, extinct human species and all our immediate ancestors (including members of the genera Homo, Australopithecus, Paranthropus and Ardipithecus).
