The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is the alphabet that shows pronunciation. It is an expanded English alphabet, with the Greek letter theta (θ) representing the 'th' sound of 'thin', and the Icelandic letter 'eth' (ð) representing the 'th' sound of 'then'.
