I suggest it is a sign of a North American bias to reserve the term Great Lakes for the North American Great Lakes. Africa has a system of African Great Lakes which are just as entitled to be called the "Great Lakes" as the North American Great Lakes.

I suggest "Great Lakes" should be a disambiguation page, and that the current article should be moved to "North American Great Lakes".
