Anna Maria Geertruida Schmidt, was a dutch poet and writer. Amongst her works are poems, songs, plays, musicals and radio-television drama, but she is most known because of her work in children's literature achieving the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1988[1]. She died in 1994 the morning after her 84th birthday through euthanasia[2].
