Andreas R. Klose has studied ancient and modern history and political sciences under Ernst Nolte, Willi Paul Adams, Gesine Schwan, and Alexander Demandt at the Freie Universität Berlin, where he received his M.A. in 1993 and his Ph.D. in 2000. The subject of his M.A. thesis was "Kulturpessimismus und nativistischer Nationalismus in den USA, 1886-1924" ("Cultural Pessimism and the Nativistic Brand of Nationalism in the USA, 1886-1924").
