A "Hacker" in the original sense of the word, I've been messing around with technology in various forms since birth; ever since I discovered that throwing a radio on the floor made the back come off, revealing the exotic innards, I was in love. Electronics has remained a hobby, whilst system administration and system development have paid the bills. These days I write code for a living, and make stupid websites, programs and mobile apps for fun. Until recently I was a staunch defender of Wikipedia but recent events have rendered me disillusioned and disappointed.

About Me

A "Hacker" in the original sense of the word, I've been messing around with technology in various forms since birth; ever since I discovered that throwing a radio on the floor made the back come off, revealing the exotic innards, I was in love. Electronics has remained a hobby, whilst system administration and development have paid the bills.

Originally from Southeast London, I'm now living in Philadelphia with a wife and three parrots. These days I work full-time as a software developer on projects ranging from low level systems and signal-processing tools, to customer-facing web applications, using a wide variety of open-source tools and environments.

My particular areas of knowledge and experience include:

Written work

Despite having worked in academic related roles for the majority of my working life, I'm not an academic and therefore loth to call this section "Publications". Nonetheless I have a number of articles published in a variety of places, both on-line and in print; most notably 2600 magazine and DaemonNews.
