Sir John Vincent Cable (born 9th May 1943; known as Vince Cable) is a British politician who has been leader of the Liberal Democrats since July 2017. He is also the Member of Parliament for Twickenham, and served as the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills from 2010 to 2015. He has a PhD in economics from the University of Glasgow, and earlier studied at Cambridge.
