| Andy's cremains, sealed in a wooden box with his paw print on top, are home now after we picked them up from the ER Vet. Below is what I wrote to memorialize Andy who was one of my best cats. He's greatly missed by his family. According to the ER vet Andy was probably killed by a bobcat. The incident took place on our front porch near the front door. I live in a housing tract so this seems to have been a brazen attack by a wild animal. Below is what I wrote immediately after my cat was euthanized.<br><br>

| Last night my 16-year-old cat Andy was attacked by either a dog or coyote, not sure which, and was put down around 2 a.m. today due to significant leg injuries.

| He was my first kitten, was an excellent kids cat, and a wonderful feline companion. He was called Mr. Diplomat as he loved to greet people at the door and would try sit in any available lap.

| He was loving and affectionate and known for his loving head butts and kitty kisses.

| He was also known for being very vocal. Much more so the last couple years as his maturing lead to more talking. The house is very quiet today as his familiar Oriental meow is silent.

| As for my evening: I discovered we have no vets available for emergencies. Instead we made a mad dash to Lancaster (over a 100 miles) to take Andy to the Vet ER. The folks there were wonderful and they did their best to make Andy comfortable.

| The highway patrol was wonderful too as we were supposed to pull over and wait for a large load to pass along the highway. Once the officers discovered we were transporting a very sick kitty they made sure we could turn off at the correct exit to head towards Lancaster.

| Up until the end he remained healthy, vibrant and full of life.

| Thanks for reading my somewhat disjointed post. I've only had about four hours sleep as we didn't get home to almost 4 a.m.
