Frederick Sherman (1888-1957) was an admiral of the U.S. Navy, who became Commander, Fifth United States Fleet before his retirement in 1947. He started as a submarine officer and then became a naval aviator, commanding Task Groups in Fast Carriers Pacific Fleet.
