Land warfare [r]: The operations of predominantly land-based military forces to control areas of ground or defeat other land forces; separate air and naval services support these operations; they involve combat arms such as infantry, armor, artillery, combat engineers, Army Aviation, and special operations, as well as combat service and combat service support
